Responsibilities:
- Conducting tree surveys for planning and construction projects in line with BS standards.
- Assisting with tree health assessments, hazard evaluations, and risk surveys.
- Preparing Tree Survey Plans and Tree Protection Plans.
- Contributing to technical reports like Arboricultural Impact Assessments and Arboricultural Method Statements.
- Gathering data to advise clients on arboricultural issues.
- Supervising on-site tree protection measures during construction.
Requirements:
- Consultancy-based experience is ideal. You should have a background in a related field such as Tree Surgery, Arboriculture, or Forestry; Ecology, Conservation, or Habitat Management; Planning, Local Authority, or Engineering.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- A Level 2 or higher qualification in arboriculture or a related environmental discipline.
- Excellent tree identification skills.
- Basic computer literacy (MS Word and Excel).
- A valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
Desirable Skills:
- Membership in a professional body (e.g., Arboricultural Association, Royal Forestry Society).
- Experience with GIS or AutoCAD systems (training available).
- Report writing experience, particularly Arboricultural Impact Assessments or Method Statements.
- Knowledge of BS surveys or tree hazard assessments.
- Practical tree management experience.
