Responsibilities:

  • Conducting tree surveys for planning and construction projects in line with BS standards.
  • Assisting with tree health assessments, hazard evaluations, and risk surveys.
  • Preparing Tree Survey Plans and Tree Protection Plans.
  • Contributing to technical reports like Arboricultural Impact Assessments and Arboricultural Method Statements.
  • Gathering data to advise clients on arboricultural issues.
  • Supervising on-site tree protection measures during construction.

Requirements:

  • Consultancy-based experience is ideal. You should have a background in a related field such as Tree Surgery, Arboriculture, or Forestry; Ecology, Conservation, or Habitat Management; Planning, Local Authority, or Engineering.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • A Level 2 or higher qualification in arboriculture or a related environmental discipline.
  • Excellent tree identification skills.
  • Basic computer literacy (MS Word and Excel).
  • A valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

Desirable Skills:

  • Membership in a professional body (e.g., Arboricultural Association, Royal Forestry Society).
  • Experience with GIS or AutoCAD systems (training available).
  • Report writing experience, particularly Arboricultural Impact Assessments or Method Statements.
  • Knowledge of BS surveys or tree hazard assessments.
  • Practical tree management experience.
