Grwp Llandrillo Menai was established in 2012 as a result of mergers between Coleg Llandrillo, Coleg Menai and Coleg Meirion Dwyfor. It employs 2,000 staff and delivers to 21,000 learners, including 1,500 higher education learners across Anglesey, Conwy, Denbigh and Gwynedd. The Grwp is one of the largest colleges in the UK, dedicated to improving people's futures across the breadth of some of the most amazing places in North Wales.

This role involves being responsible for the recruitment, retention and completion of a standardised caseload of learners that have chosen to enrol on the Dental Nursing qualification. The Assessor is responsible for delivery of training, assessment and quality assurance of learners’ work. The assessor will be overseeing learners’ knowledge and practical competence in the workplace setting.

On a daily basis the role involves meeting with learners and employers within different workplace settings, predominantly remotely but with some travel expected, working independently ensuring compliance with qualification requirements. The assessor requires the skills to plan visits in a logical manner with due regard to restricting travelling, in order to make the best use of time as well as providing resources and support to meet the individual needs of each and every learner in the language of their choice.

The assessor will be representing the Health & Social Care team of assessors within BusnesGLLM and will be expected to promote the courses offered, to encourage recruitment. The ability to teach small group workshop sessions in Dental Nursing would be beneficial.

Pension provider: Local Government Pension Scheme

Hours of work: Up to 16 hours per week. Work pattern to be agreed depending on availability. An additional percentage of 10% will be applied to the contracted hours worked to reflect preparation and marking.

This post will be based in South Wales - the location can be agreed with the successful applicant.
