Weekend Chef – Cheshunt, Hertfordshire

Location: Kingfisher Nursing Home, Emmanuel Lodge, College Road, Cheshunt, Hertfordshire, EN8 9NQ

Hourly rate: Up to £14.50 per hour (depending on experience)

Hours: 15 hours/2 days per week

Shifts: Saturday and Sunday, 7:30am to 3:30pm

Job type: Part time, permanent

About the role:

1. Prepare hot and cold meals for residents according to their needs and preferences
2. Assist with planning seasonal menus
3. Ensure compliance with the Health & Safety Policy and regulations
4. Carry out checks in the kitchen as required to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, for example recording fridge temperatures
5. Maintain a clean and hygienic environment, including washing and clearing up equipment
6. Report all accidents and incidents to the Person-in-Charge of the home

About you:

1. The right to live and work in the UK
2. Previous experience in a similar role and setting (i.e. a care home or a school)
3. Certificate Level II in Food Safety and Hygiene
4. Knowledge of nutritional needs of older people
5. Health and Safety and regulatory requirements
6. A positive and flexible attitude towards work and the ability to work well in a team
