The CAN Group of companies are leading providers in Engineering, Integrity, Inspection and Maintenance solutions to the energy industry worldwide. We are currently looking to recruit a Trainee NDT Technician to work within our client facility at St Fergus. This is a developmental, entry level role which would ideally suit a recent college leaver or graduate with demonstrable aptitude for a technical role within an established team. The position will include a significant training program, involving time spent at other work locations and training centres.
Candidates should possess the following skills, however as this is a development role, training and mentoring will be provided:
- Essential
- Good educational background with Higher Grade passes (or equivalent) in English, Maths and a Science / Technology based subject.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Enthusiastic and highly self-motivated along with a proactive approach.
- Flexible approach to working.
- Possess a positive and mature attitude.
- Ability to demonstrate strong interpersonal/client interfacing skills.
- Ability to work under a degree of pressure.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel and ability to learn and operate bespoke databases.
- Possess a basic understanding of mechanical engineering principles & practices.
- Ability to pass the mandatory medical and other industry safety training.
- Willingness and capability to build on existing skills and develop professionally.
- Willingness to attend courses as and when required.
- Strong desire for a Technical / Engineering role.
- Safety minded attitude.
