Our client is one of Ireland's leading haulage companies operating for over 30 years. They specialize in transporting full and part loads both to and from the UK, operating with a modern fleet of 160+ HGV units and offering a wide range of services to their customers, including full loads, groupage, warehousing, and customs clearance. Their branches are located in Newry, Heysham, and Cardiff.
They are currently recruiting for an experienced driver trainer to join their logistics team. In this role, you will be a crucial member of the team helping to achieve outstanding service to our clients' customers.
Are you the right person for the job?
- Full Class 1 Driving licence with 3 years’ experience driving professionally
- Previous experience as a HGV driver trainer
- Excellent organisational skills
- Proven record of delivering change
- Strong communication skills
- A strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
What will your role look like?
- Driver assessments during the recruitment and selection process
- Develop a mentoring package for new drivers to the business
- Assessing and evaluating driver performance utilizing vehicle telematics
- Deliver a high standard of training to all drivers
- Support investigations to fully understand root cause and further training requirements
- Identify opportunities and develop initiatives to generate cost savings across the fleet
