The University of London is accepting applications for Online Tutors with a specialist background in Web Development to support the online BSc Computer Science programme, with academic direction from Goldsmiths. We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals with experience in higher education and distance learning. In particular, applicants will need to have extensive experience of undertaking assessment duties similar to those outlined in the role description.

The Online Tutor's tasks include proactive support to students via the Coursera platform; marking summative assessments and providing detailed feedback. Each Online Tutor will be supported by a Module Leader and Programme Director and will work closely with University of London’s Programme Managers.

Location: Remote

Employment Type: Self-employed contractor

Hours per week: Not specified, payment is based on duties undertaken within a study session.

Salary: £1,431.84 flat fee per study session. Assessment marking is paid separately at £24.19 per coursework assignment and £13.39 per exam script marked.

As an Online Tutor, you will be required to provide academic support for the following module on the BSc Computer Science programme: Web Development. The Web Development module equips students with the skills to design and implement dynamic web applications using foundational web programming concepts and frameworks.

You will be a motivated individual who enjoys working with students and who is driven to support students to achieve success in their studies. You will have experience working in a Higher Education Institution and have a computer science or related Postgraduate qualification with good programming skills.
