General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems (GD-OTS), a premier provider to the US Department of Defense and allied nations, is seeking an experienced Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. This individual will be responsible for planning, designing, and constructing manufacturing facilities and related structures. They will determine facility specifications, analyze location, material resources, structural design, resolve technical problems, and recommend production improvements.
Major Responsibilities
- Develop, evaluate, and improve industrial manufacturing methods, considering product design, materials, fabrication processes, tooling, production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality standards.
- Analyze and plan workforce utilization, space requirements, workflow, and design equipment and workspace layouts for maximum efficiency.
- Determine parts, equipment, tools, and processes needed to meet manufacturing goals according to product specifications.
- Estimate production times, staffing needs, and costs to support management decisions.
- Communicate manufacturing capabilities, schedules, and other relevant information to facilitate production.
- Consult with vendors to determine product specifications, and arrange for equipment, materials, and parts procurement.
- Evaluate products based on specifications and quality standards.
Qualifications
Education: Associate's Degree with 5-7 years of experience or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience. Bachelor's Degree preferred. Major: Engineering or related field.
Skills: Excellent oral and written communication, ability to meet deadlines, work independently and in teams, problem-solving, analytical thinking, design expertise, leadership.
Technical Skills: Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
