The lesson programmes are important from both a community engagement perspective and also for the contribution to the financial viability of the centres, enabling us to offer support to other programming activities.

As an Assistant Swimming Teacher, it will be your responsibility to support the wider teaching team to plan and deliver fun, engaging, and educational lessons following our scheme of work and guidance from relevant National Governing Bodies. This support will include assisting pupils from the water at lower stages.

The Assistant Swimming Teacher role is a developmental position, and as part of this, post holders will be supported to develop towards achieving their Swim England level 1 and level 2 Teaching Qualifications and the NRASTC rescue qualification. Further into their development, Assistant Teachers will be expected to deliver crash courses (with support) and progress on to cover existing classes.

You will also help with routine checks, housekeeping standards, and customer safety, especially for the class members in your charge during lessons. As you go about your work, you will regularly interact with customers in a warm and welcoming way. You will often be the team member that customers build a relationship and trust with, and therefore you will have a great deal of responsibility for representing LeisureSK in a professional and efficient manner; remaining calm in difficult situations, being proactive in dealing with issues yourself where possible, or reporting immediately to management if not.
