What will the apprentice be doing?
Property Maintenance Operatives assist in the location of the repair works to be carried out, and to obtain further information and clarification as required from the customer, using a range of information gathering and communication techniques, whilst recording and reporting information in a variety of ways, including using digital technologies. While much of the time may be working inside properties, operatives will be regularly required to work outside, conducting maintenance and repairs to properties, including external drainage, brick and blockwork, glazing, fencing, and groundworks.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
The qualification you would gain is the Level 2 Property Maintenance (Standard) where we will be looking to partner with a training provider to provide the training, provider not yet confirmed. This training will include a paid study day, once enrolled, up to 7 hours/1 day per week. You are expected to travel when necessary for training and/or assessments. You will be responsible for managing/arranging with your line manager.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
On completion of this apprenticeship, you can work as a qualified Property Maintenance worker where, with more experience, you can look to progress or work your way up to a foreman/supervisor position. With experience and drive, you could end up as a manager or even run your own company. You will be eligible for the Skilled Worker (Blue) CSCS Card after the level 2 qualification.
