Experience / Background Required:
- Time-served Apprenticeship & proven mechanical fitting/production experience in an engineering environment.
- Able to read technical drawings.
- High levels of attention to detail.
- Positive approach to customer service.
- Good workload management skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including good spoken and written communication.
- Adequate physical fitness, mobility, and dexterity for fitting and customer training.
The Role of Mechanical Fitter:
- Prepare, fit, and repair component parts and equipment, including all aspects of metalwork, hand/power tools, and typical workshop equipment.
- Maintain departmental tools, ensuring they are in good repair and receive regular maintenance.
- Manage individually assigned workload, working with the departmental team leader to meet production targets.
- Ownership of production quality checks before distribution or progression to another department.
- React quickly to changing demands and re-prioritise workload as required based on production and sales information.
