We are working with a leading grower of premium soft fruits, dedicated to delivering high-quality produce to customers while upholding sustainable, ethical farming practices. They take pride in maintaining industry-leading standards, and the Quality Assurance Manager plays a vital role in ensuring that their products meet food safety, legal, and quality standards from the field to the consumer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee product quality assurance to ensure compliance with food safety, legal, and customer requirements (BRCGS, TFS, Global Gap, Red Tractor, etc.).
- Achieve and deliver the Quality Service Level (QSL) targets for the business.
- Collaborate with teams across departments to investigate and resolve quality issues, non-conformances, and complaints within agreed timescales.
- Lead and develop a skilled Quality Assurance and Label Room team to meet customer specifications.
- Manage the QA budget and improve quality processes to develop a "right first time" culture.
- Conduct regular internal and external quality audits, sharing findings with relevant stakeholders.
- Manage customer visits and participate in company-wide initiatives and projects.
- Analyse, report, and act on quality data to enhance overall performance.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Previous experience in a quality management role within fresh produce.
- Strong knowledge of BRCGS, food safety standards, and HACCP principles (minimum Level 2 HACCP and Food Safety).
- Proven leadership and team management experience.
- Excellent communication skills for building relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills under pressure.
- IT proficiency, especially in Microsoft Office applications.
- Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field (advantageous).
