The predicted salary is between 48000 - 72000 Β£ per year.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading engineering business during a period of continued growth as they support the Oil & Gas, Chemical and Renewable Energy sectors. The role will be incorporated as part of the client team supporting a major chemical facility. The role will be working on either a hybrid or full-time office basis. If hybrid, approximately 2-3 days can be working remotely with approximately 2-3 days to be based in the client location in South Wales. This role is deemed outside IR35.

Role & Responsibilities

  • The role will be working as part of the Client team, supporting an existing team of engineers in the development of complex projects.
  • Develop the scope of work / basis of design for studies and projects.
  • Complete RV calculations, pump calculations, size orifice plates and complete heat exchanger calculations.
  • Undertake and check process calculations.
  • Preparation and checking of process deliverables – PFDs, P&IDs, datasheets, specifications, process descriptions, philosophies and narratives.
  • Supporting the project during FEED and detailed design stages.
  • Perform safety-related calculations and provide input to safety reviews – What If, Hazop SIL Assessment, etc.
  • Utilise process simulation software as required for the development of process deliverables.
  • Attend in-house and site-based meetings / reviews with clients.
  • Undertake short and long-term business travel in support of studies, projects and consultancy.

Key Skills & Knowledge

  • Degree in Chemical Engineering essential, chartered status desired but not essential.
  • Previously worked on design projects in the Oil & Gas, Chemical, Petrochem, or Renewable Energy industries.
  • Experience in relevant design standards and protocols.
  • Previous site experience in conjunction with a design background beneficial.
