We are seeking to hire an experienced CNC Programmer who has experience of programming 3 and 5 axis CNC machines. This will be a day shift role programming offline.

As a highly skilled CNC Programmer with a strong understanding of fabrication processes to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, modifying, and optimizing CNC programs to support the machining of high-quality metal and composite parts. This role requires expertise in CNC programming, multi-axis milling, ensuring efficiency, precision, and adherence to design specifications.
Key Responsibilities.

  • Develop and optimize CNC programs for fabrication, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Interpret CAD models, and technical drawings to create precise machine instructions.
  • Select appropriate tools, speeds, and feeds for various materials and machining processes.
  • Collaborate with engineers, machinists, and fabricators to improve manufacturing processes.
  • Set up and troubleshoot CNC machines to ensure smooth operations.
  • Conduct test runs and inspections to validate programs and make necessary adjustments.
  • Maintain and update CNC programming documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and quality control measures.
  • Assist in training machinists and operators on CNC programming and machine setup.
  • Stay up to date with the latest CNC and fabrication technologies to enhance productivity.

Experience & Skills.

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in CNC programming
  • Minimum of 4 years experience in practical milling & turning
  • Software Proficiency: Mastery of CAD/CAM software (such as Mastercam, Powermill, Powershape). Experience of Vericut would be preferred.
  • Experience in the development of jigs and fixtures in a high mix/low volume environment.

Desirable Experience would include.

  • Experience in process development and Continuous improvement
  • Operation / programming of large gantry mills
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of G-code, M-code, and CNC machine operations.
  • Fabrication Expertise: Knowledge of metal fabrication processes, including cutting, bending, welding, and assembly.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot programming and machining issues effectively.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong quality control mindset to ensure precision in production.
  • Teamwork & Communication: Ability to collaborate with engineers, machinists, and shop personnel.
  • Experience of programming Large Gantry machines would be an advantage.
