This is particularly true of the School’s Careers function, who play a central role in delivering an exceptional student experience and having an impact on student success. We are a team of thirteen, all with a genuine care for our students’ futures, and we have a friendly, helpful culture operating in a flexible environment.

About the role:

This position supports our undergraduate population and joins us at an exciting time at the Business School as we look to grow our student population and offer a scalable, forward-thinking careers provision. This role will be overseeing the undergraduate provision and designing and delivering our new credit-bearing learning and development modules, which aim to build students’ business acumen and relevant competencies and career management skills.

This role requires a strong understanding of learning and development principles, a passion for supporting young people and an ability to work creatively and strategically. You will be responsible for building innovative, experiential, and scalable learning experiences that incorporate reflective practice. With increasing cohort sizes, you will implement appropriate delivery models, leverage technology and peer-led learning, to ensure a high-quality student experience and impact.

You will manage an undergraduate Careers Consultant, who also oversees the development of a new Student Career Coach team, and you will be delivering workshops, small group sessions and 1:1 student coaching appointments. You will work across the Careers team, with faculty members and wider teams and departments and continue to grow our high-quality careers offering.

Both part-time (0.8) and full-time applicants will be considered and the position is hybrid with two days required on campus (this may increase in our Autumn term period for a short duration).

About you:

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:

  • Strong coaching skills with experience supporting young people
  • Proven experience designing and delivering inclusive learning or development programmes in a higher education, careers, or learning & development setting
  • Project management experience with a track record of leading and delivering projects from concept to evaluation
  • The ability to use qualitative and quantitative information to critically evaluate, demonstrate and improve the effectiveness of activities
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate with academic staff, employers, and students
  • Strong leadership skills with a people-centric and strategic approach
  • Strong reflective practice and a commitment to innovation in employability and skills development
  • A relevant professional qualification in careers and employability
  • Experience embedding employability within academic curricula or leading credit-bearing modules
  • Familiarity with authentic assessment methods and digital learning tools (e.g. LinkedIn Learning, VMock, simulation platforms)
  • Experience managing large student cohorts or implementing peer-led or hybrid learning models

We pride ourselves on being inclusive and welcoming. We embrace diversity and want everyone to feel that they belong and are connected to others in our community. We are committed to working with our staff and unions on these and other issues, to continue to support our people and to develop a diverse and inclusive culture at King's.

As part of this commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion and through this appointment process, it is our aim to develop candidate pools that include applicants from all backgrounds and communities. We ask all candidates to submit a copy of their CV, and a supporting statement, detailing how they meet the essential criteria listed in the advert.
