OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE CFO ROLE Main Responsibilities: Collaborate with the CEO and COO as part of the Executive Team to set the company\’s strategic direction, develop the business plan aligned with this strategy, and lead its execution. Maintain accurate accounting records, prepare and file periodic and annual returns, and statutory accounts. Identify risks and communicate value, risk, and mitigation strategies to the Board. Work closely with the parent group, a publicly listed investment company, especially regarding reporting, budgeting, and forecasting. Lead an efficient finance function providing services such as transaction processing, financial planning and analysis, inventory management, international stock movement, treasury, and tax. Foster effective cross-functional collaboration with other business units. Manage and develop finance staff, ensuring motivation and growth. Safeguard group assets, ensuring compliance with financial and tax regulations. Oversee acquisitions, disposals, financing, and other long-term investments. Skills and Experience Proven CFO/FD experience within sizable businesses (preferably over £250m), with extensive financial management expertise and at least 15 years in senior leadership roles. Based in the South West. Preferably ACA or ACCA qualified. Good knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS. Experience in the technology or industrial sectors is preferred, but cross-sector experience will be considered. Commercially aware with a consultative leadership style. Excellent interpersonal, influencing, and communication skills; capable of working with all organizational levels. Comfortable managing large volumes of transactions quickly. Experience implementing profit-enhancing strategies (e.g., ROS/ROIC improvements). Experience managing customs arrangements, Incoterms, and advising on import VAT/duties regulations. Proven track record in producing statutory accounts, strategic plans, forecasts, and managing forex strategies. Experience improving reporting processes. Good understanding of stock accounting and the financial aspects of overseas supply chains. Familiarity with Sage 200 accounting software is a plus. Resourceful in setting priorities and guiding investments in people and systems. Advanced skills in change management, negotiation, decision-making, and problem-solving. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to operate effectively in an international, multicultural environment with strong presentation, facilitation, organizational, and time management skills. #J-18808-Ljbffr
