Job Description

Exciting opportunity for a Director of Structured Products at a European Corporate & Investment Bank in London.

Main Purpose of this Role

• Structuring credit solutions for clients, including client discussions, idea generation, documentation negotiation, and client presentations.
• Coordinating medium-sized projects such as NPPs, resource planning, monitoring performance, and ensuring targets and product approvals.
• Developing innovative structures, demonstrating technical expertise and commercial judgment.
• Developing and refining processes, systems, and procedures to meet standards and improve efficiency.
• Implementing medium-term business plans focusing on income growth and geographical expansion, considering regulatory factors.
• Actively seeking personal professional development opportunities.
• Collaborating with Sales teams to generate new trade leads and structures.
• Ensuring trades are tax-efficient and compliant with regulations, with ongoing monitoring of regulatory changes.
• Presenting to senior management and participating in management or risk committees for trade approval.
• Working with Legal and Operations teams to ensure legal efficiency and operational feasibility of trades.

Additional Responsibilities

• Focusing on Europe and the Americas, expanding business with Corporate Clients and Financial Institutions, including client meetings and networking.
• Origination and structuring of credit derivatives, structured repo products, collateral lending, swaps, and illiquid assets, including hedging instruments.
• Building and executing a business pipeline, collaborating with colleagues as needed.
• Managing internal approval processes for transactions.
• Understanding modeling, quantitative aspects, and XVA related to credit derivatives, FX, and interest rate products.
• Possessing detailed knowledge of relevant documentation (LMA, LSTA, ISDA, GMRA, GMLSA) and negotiating skills.

The Successful Applicant

We are seeking a Director of Structured Products for a European Corporate & Investment Bank in London.

Key Requirements

• At least 7 years of experience in trading or structuring fixed income structured products.
• Degree in a quantitative field (Mathematics, Engineering, Physical Sciences, Quantitative Finance) with a 2:1 or higher, plus advanced qualifications (Masters, PhD, or professional certifications).
• Experience in structuring or trading structured credit derivatives, and either structured repo or illiquid assets (preferably both).
• Proven track record of delivering solutions and generating revenue from structured credit derivatives, repo, and illiquid assets.
• Strong team player with collaborative ethos and integrity.
• FCA certification and maintenance of necessary licenses and qualifications.
