Reporting to the Compliance Director, the Head of Compliance and Monitoring will play a key role in ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and implementing effective compliance monitoring frameworks. The successful candidate will lead the compliance monitoring function, oversee regulatory operations, and provide strategic guidance to mitigate compliance risks within the business. They will oversee the implementation of effective compliance strategies, streamline operational processes and maintain the highest standards of integrity while managing risk in a fast-evolving regulatory environment.
About the role
- Lead and manage the Compliance Monitoring team to ensure effective oversight of all compliance activities, whilst simultaneously overseeing the implementation of effective compliance strategies and streamlining operational processes in accordance to the CFC group.
- Develop and execute a compliance monitoring programme aligned with FCA and Lloyd’s regulatory requirements.
- Establish and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of compliance operations, including alert volumes, false positive rates, and investigation times.
- Own the regular risk-based monitoring reviews to ensure adherence to applicable laws, regulations and internal policies.
- Lead on all MGA’s regulatory reporting obligations and ensure timely submissions to relevant authorities.
- Maintain, enhance and improve policies, procedures and controls to ensure compliance with UK regulatory expectations.
- Work with the other Heads of Compliance to stay up-to-date with regulatory changes and industry best practices to ensure the firm’s compliance framework remains robust and effective.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors during compliance audits, ensuring all necessary documentation and evidence are readily available.
- Oversee the investigation and resolution of compliance-related incidents, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Prepare and present detailed reports on compliance activities and findings to senior management and the Board of Directors.
About you
You have demonstrated technical compliance exposure to monitoring and operational processes, ideally acquired working at a Lloyds managing agent or UK based company market insurer. You will have strong knowledge of Lloyd’s, Lloyds Europe, the FCA Handbook and principles, and UK/International regulatory requirements. You should have the ability to work independently in a high pace environment and on your own initiative, whilst being part of a wider team. Well-developed international regulatory and compliance knowledge, combining strong technical skills with a pragmatic, commercially-sensitive approach to regulatory and problem solving.
