My client, a well-established and respected law firm, is looking to recruit a Residential Conveyancing Solicitor to join their successful Conveyancing team in the city centre of Newcastle-upon-Tyne. The successful candidate will be aspiring to progress to a team leader role in the longer term.

Your Role
- To manage and run a varied residential property caseload;
- To attend to clients, taking instructions, and conducting letter and telephone enquiries as necessary;
- Processing property matters on a timely and cost effective basis;
- Proactive and effective maintenance and management of files;
- To ensure that clients are dealt with efficiently and politely and that appropriate legal matters are raised with the team leader or Head of Department as appropriate;
- To use the correct Practice procedures and systems in order to manage cases effectively and in accordance with the firm’s standards and legal requirements;
- To improve and enhance the firm’s client base by effective liaison with existing clients and introducers;
- To maximize the firm’s potential to cross-sell services by identifying appropriate opportunities;
- To manage own work allocation, productivity and quality of work with minimum supervision;
- To ensure our clients and third party referrers and contacts receive the best possible service at all times;
- To work and behave in a professional manner;
- To adhere to the policies, procedures and protocols within the Quality Procedures Manual;
- To promote and embrace Equality and Diversity across the firm and within the business communities we engage with.
About you
- Qualified Solicitor, Legal Exec or Licenced Conveyancer;
- 3 years + in conveyancing role;
- Experience of handling a case load with minimum supervision;
- Thorough knowledge of residential conveyancing processes and associated law and, as such, competent in handling freehold and leasehold sales and purchases (including new builds and shared ownership, HTB mortgages and ISAs), remortgages and transfers of equity;
- Thorough understanding of AML requirements;
- Capable of handling an active case load of up to 80 files;
- A good networker who is keen to be involved in business development;
- Excellent client care, time management and organisational skills;
- Excellent IT skills and proficient in the use of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) CMS;
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;
- Excellent interpersonal skills;
- Excellent telephone manner;
- Strong organisational and planning skills with the ability to prioritise and use initiative;
- The ability to work well under pressure and work efficiently to meet tight deadlines;
- Excellent attention to detail;
- Good team player.
Desirable:
- Experience in post completion;
- Experience in new builds and shared ownership;
- Experience of LEAP CMS.
Salary will be competitive up to £45k and hybrid working will be available following successful completion of probation period. There is genuine scope for further development and progression as initially highlighted.
