A leading global financial institution is seeking an experienced Global Head of Equity Valuation Control to drive valuation governance across its global equities trading and investment portfolios. This strategic leadership role is responsible for setting policies, ensuring pricing accuracy, and overseeing valuation methodologies across multiple regions, regulatory jurisdictions, and trading desks.
About the Role
The Global Head of Equity Valuation Control will define and implement best-in-class valuation frameworks, ensuring compliance with industry standards and evolving regulatory requirements. This role will lead a multinational team of valuation professionals, working closely with senior stakeholders including trading desks, risk management, finance, audit, and external regulators.
Responsibilities
- Lead the global valuation control function for all equity products, ensuring consistency across EMEA, Americas, and APAC.
- Set and maintain the independent price verification (IPV) framework, ensuring robust validation processes across regional desks.
- Develop and refine pricing methodologies for listed equities, structured products, and derivatives, aligning with global best practices.
- Oversee valuation adjustments, including bid-offer reserves, liquidity provisions, and fair value calculations.
- Engage with global regulators (e.g. PRA, SEC, ESMA) to ensure compliance with IFRS 13, Basel III, and other regional standards.
- Establish controls to mitigate model risk, collaborating with quants and risk teams to validate equity valuation models.
- Monitor market dynamics, assessing pricing challenges in response to volatility, liquidity constraints, and macroeconomic shifts.
- Define strategic improvements to valuation policies, governance frameworks, and automated valuation technology.
- Provide thought leadership and industry representation, influencing regulatory developments and best practices.
- Lead and mentor a global team of valuation control specialists, ensuring alignment between regional offices and central strategy.
- Collaborate with technology teams to implement automated solutions for valuation validation and control processes.
