The role: Acquiring Enterprise subscribers is a key pillar in our growth strategy, and to do this we need to make the best use of our customer and prospect data. In this role you will be analysing data from a range of sources (including Salesforce CRM & Marketing Cloud, and Google Analytics/Amplitude) and using it to influence all aspects of B2B decision making. You will partner with sales and marketing teams to help them identify the best leads and understand the drivers behind new business growth. Working with the Product, customer success and retention teams you will help to identify opportunities to grow customer engagement and drive up- and cross-sell rates. The enterprise business is growing rapidly and undergoing significant changes, so this role is a unique opportunity to influence the shape of this part of The Economist’s business. From helping us to define the right KPIs and commercial model, to identifying opportunities to innovate using AI and machine learning, this is more than just another B2B analysis role. You will be working closely with a wide range of stakeholders including; senior leadership, product, sales, marketing, customer success and CRM, as well as peers in the data, insights, research and strategy teams.
What we’re looking for: We are seeking a candidate with prior experience performing data analysis for a B2B subscription business and a strong aptitude for generating insight from large datasets. Experience analysing raw datasets in SQL is a requirement, but the ability to tell stories and generate insight from the data is what really matters. Candidates with relevant experience but needing to improve their technical skills by working as part of a diverse team are welcomed. We believe data is essential to the success of our business. This role is an opportunity to lead the delivery of insights that impact real decisions being taken every day at The Economist.
How you will contribute:
- Build relationships with the enterprise subscription team to understand their needs
- Ensure we are tracking the right data in our CRM and analytics systems, and using the right metrics and KPIs to drive business growth.
- Support regular reporting of performance across a range of metrics including lead generation and conversion, customer engagement, client retention and up-sell.
- Participate in the product roadmap process, identifying and sizing opportunities in data
- Proactively identify insights that can improve effectiveness across the whole B2B customer lifecycle.
- Measure the impact and incrementality of campaigns and initiatives, including supporting A/B tests
Who you are:
- Ability to examine data critically to extract meaningful insights
- Ability to communicate findings clearly to non-technical colleagues
- Experience producing insight from large datasets
- Experience working with data from analytics systems
- Experience using advanced SQL for data analysis
- Experience working in a B2B subscription business
- Experience working with data from Salesforce CRM and marketing cloud, and web analytics data (Google Analytics, Amplitude etc)
