The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.

You will be working as part of the Collections Information team, which is part of the Collections and Digital department at Wellcome Collection, reporting to the Collections Information Lead (Metadata).

You will be working closely with colleagues across the Collections & Digital department as well as colleagues within Wellcome’s Digital & Technology team.

What will I be doing?

As the Metadata Analyst responsible for data migration from existing systems to the new collections management system procured, we are looking for someone who can;

  • Work in partnership with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, including systems suppliers.

  • Ensure that all collections data held in Wellcome Collection’s current collections management system(s) is thoroughly cleaned and prepared for migration into successor application(s).

  • Design, implement, test, and document data migration pathways and optimise collections management workflows and reporting, taking full advantage of the opportunities presented by the new systems infrastructure.

  • Provide a high level of expert data skill to support the ongoing development of Wellcome’s collections management infrastructure and to support further systems integration.

  • Contribute to a diverse and inclusive culture across the organisation, collaborating across departments.

You are someone who enjoys working with data and has excellent collections data analysis and data transformation skills using spreadsheets and databases.

You have a strong ethos of working in partnership and collaboration with your teammates and colleagues, with proven relationship management skills, and the ability to influence, advise and support a wide range of stakeholders.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Experience of data cleansing, conversion, and migration projects.

  • Experience of undertaking system administrative tasks, such as running scripts, configuring load tables, constructing SQL queries, data export and import, and making global changes to records in a library or collections management system.

  • Experience of collections management system configuration and workflow development.

  • Solid understanding and experience of library, archive and/or museum cataloguing systems (such as CALM and Mimsy), and relevant metadata and descriptive standards e.g. ISAD(G), Spectrum, RDA, AACR2, MARC21.

  • An ability to work under pressure to achieve targets, and to manage competing requirements of multiple stakeholders, managing expectations and prioritising appropriately.

  • A clear focus on solutions and outcomes, with a systematic and analytical approach to problem solving.
