Artis Recruitment are working in partnership with a growing online lifestyle brand based in Swansea to recruit a Buyer. Due to continued growth, our client is looking to grow the purchasing team. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking to establish and develop a career within procurement. This role offers candidates the opportunity to manage day-to-day purchasing activities whilst also taking on more strategic elements such as supplier management, sourcing and negotiations. The Buyer role is paying up to £35,000 PA with 1-2 days based on site.
About the role
- Take ownership of the brand and product assortment within designated product categories, ensuring a well-balanced mix that meets customer needs and expectations.
- Continuously monitor the performance of products and brands, using data-driven insights to enhance overall category performance.
- Use a range of data to identify opportunities for strategic purchasing decisions aimed at driving growth and increasing market share.
- Deliver regular updates and insights on category performance to senior management and the wider leadership team.
- Collaborate closely with suppliers to ensure the range, cost, and delivery terms offer optimal value for the business.
- Negotiate pricing and commercial terms with suppliers to secure the most competitive agreements.
- In partnership with the commercial team, review and adjust sales forecasts based on current sales trends, seasonal demand, and stock availability.
- Monitor inventory levels proactively to avoid both stockouts and overstock situations, supporting the merchandising team in maintaining optimal stock positions.
About your experience
- Demonstrable track record in a purchasing role.
- Proven negotiation skills, ability to build relationships.
- High proficiency in Microsoft suite, specifically Excel.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Ability to analyse data, spot market trends, opportunities and risks.
