We require an experienced and enthusiastic head herdsperson to work alongside the father and son team on a successful dairy business near Skipton in North Yorkshire. They are now at a stage where they require a head herdsperson to share day-to-day responsibility and help progress the business further.
New cow housing and a 50-point rotary parlour with all labour-saving devices to milk the herd of 500 Pedigree Friesian Holstein cows which are housed all year round. The successful candidate will need to be a self-motivated and enthusiastic individual who has extremely high standards with a particular eye for attention to detail, able to think for themselves and be able to run all elements of a large, modern dairy herd.
Someone who is a good decision maker and willing to be dedicated to animal health and welfare as well as a good communicator with other staff are essential qualities for this role.
In return for your effort, we offer a highly competitive salary with bonus schemes, regular time off and a 3-bedroom centrally heated bungalow within easy walking distance of the farm, which is free from rent and council tax.
