Opticore IT is a rapidly expanding specialist Network Engineer and Project Management Consultancy, offering a wide variety of opportunities to work within fast-paced, challenging environments across our client base spanning multiple sectors including Finance, Broadcast Media, Telecommunications and more. Opticore IT are currently searching for a Senior Network Engineer to join our Broadcast Media client to ensure their Cloud and on-premise platforms are fit for purpose. You will join our excelling team, based in the London area, two days a week.

What you will be doing:

  • Re-implement and integrate our clients' News network. This is a large budget, multi-year project for 10-11 News locations around the UK, starting with Bristol.
  • Reporting into UK Technology Architecture to ensure that any solution adheres to our clients design principles and the operating models are considered.
  • Oversee the design and the high-level integration of NDI/SRT video.

What you will bring:

  • Operating at a CCIE level.
  • Previous delivery of a multicast project.
  • Excellent knowledge of switching and routing, across a number of routing protocols, but specific knowledge and history of BGP is a requirement.
  • Good relevant industry exposure in the Network space.
  • Demonstrable Security knowledge (Palo Alto, Checkpoint, Cisco ASA, Fortinet) and/or authentication services such as Cisco ISE.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate non-technical requirements and workflows into technical proposals to be communicated back to senior stakeholders within the organisation.
  • A history of deploying wide area networks to support high bandwidth workflows is also essential.
