About the role: We are seeking a bi-lingual English/Swedish-speaking Senior HR Generalist to provide daily HR support to the Global Relay SE and UK team. This role is situated in our London office and involves working closely with the HR team to develop, implement, and deliver HR programs. The Senior HR Generalist will support our newly opened office in Stockholm, so a strong understanding of Swedish law and proficiency in the Swedish language is essential. In this position, you will be actively involved in all aspects of HR, including recruitment, performance management, occupational health and safety, HR system implementation and maintenance, as well as the development and implementation of policies and procedures. As the Senior HR Coordinator, you will provide comprehensive administrative support to the daily operations of the HR team. Your contributions will ensure the efficient and professional delivery of HR programmes, processes, and services across the organisation. Additionally, you will act as a point of contact for the UK HR Director, assisting in training, delegating, and guiding other members of the HRC team to ensure smooth operations and effective collaboration.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Overseeing the HR function for the Stockholm office and collaborating with managers on employee relations issues, performance management, and assisting them in implementing best HR practices.
- Providing immigration support to our UK and SE employees by preparing and reviewing all visa applications and Certificates of Sponsorship and working closely with our immigration provider.
- Direct responsibility for administering the benefit enrollment and any changes for the UK and SE.
- Builds and maintains positive working relationships with assigned business units to ensure HR services are properly executed.
- Analyzes and makes independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varying complexity in accordance with organization objectives and guidelines.
- Maintains compliance with all applicable UK and Swedish employment law requirements, company policies, procedures, and standards.
- Creates HR documentation including offer letters, onboarding documents, contractual agreements, employment confirmation letters, etc.
- Processes updates in the various HR Systems (HRIS, ATS, PAS) as required.
- Supports the annual performance management process, including facilitating employee review meetings and tracking employee performance.
- Facilitates onboarding activities and conducts exit interviews and related activities as part of the off-boarding process.
- Organizes and prioritizes a variety of projects and tasks in an effective and timely manner, sets appropriate priorities and meets deadlines.
- Handles employee relation issues and investigations, consults with HR leadership on complex matters and investigations.
- Conducts cultural (final-round) interviews with internal and external applicants being considered for employment.
- Assesses and identifies trends and proposes solutions that will assist the HR leadership team in designing improvement strategies.
- Works with the Recruitment team to provide support in the recruitment process: developing and maintaining job descriptions, screening resumes, interviewing and reference checking.
- Supports the Annual Compensation Program by educating managers and supporting employee communication.
- Provides support with strategic HR initiatives, including research & recommendations, ownership & participation in the development, implementation and maintenance of initiatives.
- Analyzes and creates reports based on HR metrics on an ad-hoc basis, specifically detailing the effectiveness of current HR programs and processes.
- Supports hiring managers in developing and maintaining job descriptions, sourcing, interviewing/screening, making offers and initial stages of on-boarding candidates.
- Collaborates on the design of and conducts training programs as needed.
- Attends and represents Global Relay at career fairs and recruitment-related events.
- Partners with hiring managers to identify and source qualified applicants for open positions if required.
- Participates with the hiring team to make employment recommendations based on information developed through interviews, reference checks, employment applications, and resumes.
- Assist with ad hoc special projects as required.
About you:
- 5+ years’ experience in Human Resource capacity is essential.
- Ideally CIPD qualified or working towards this.
- Knowledge of HR standards and best practices, with a strong understanding of Swedish employment law.
- Experience in immigration policies and procedures.
- Experience in HRIS or other databases, with excellent skills in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Highly detail-orientated with strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Self-starter who is comfortable working independently and with a team.
- Must be able to show proven record of responsibility and judgement including exercise of discretion and confidentiality.
- Strong ability to lead and run team meetings and discussions.
