We are seeking a Fire Safety Adviser to support the development and implementation of fire safety policies, risk assessments, and compliance measures across multiple campuses. Working within the Health & Safety team, this role ensures adherence to fire safety legislation, industry standards, and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out and review fire risk assessments, ensuring compliance with fire safety legislation and British Standards (BS 9999, BS 9991).
  • Provide technical fire safety advice to staff, students, and key stakeholders.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of fire safety policies, procedures, and training.
  • Support fire safety audits and inspections, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Work closely with the Health & Safety team to ensure a safe and compliant campus environment.

Person Specification

Essential:

  • Level 4 qualification in Fire Safety (or equivalent).
  • Proven experience conducting and reviewing complex fire risk assessments within large organizations.
  • Strong knowledge of fire safety legislation, building regulations (ADB), and British Standards.

Desirable:

  • Experience in higher education, healthcare, or large estates.
  • Familiarity with fire safety management systems and emergency planning.
