Responsibilities of Assistant Quantity Surveyor:

  • Assist the QS with the submission of all Payment Notices (or Applications for Payment) in line with contracted terms and help achieve the maximum possible certified value from clients.
  • Record the current commercial position of a contract in terms of income and costs.
  • Help manage the assets of the business efficiently.
  • Work with the Commercial Manager to ensure the project is commercially viable.
  • Manage the procurement of Sub-contractors in a timely manner with competitive tenders wherever possible.
  • Assist the site manager in producing a procurement schedule with lead-in times to provide central buying opportunities to obtain the best prices.

Qualifications required include SMSTS, CSCS, and working towards a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline. Project experience as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor is also necessary.
