Freightserve recruitment are looking for an Airfreight Pricing Specialist for a well-established Freight Forwarder based in the Heathrow area.
Job Responsibilities:
- Respond to customer and overseas partner pricing enquiries.
- Research and understand the inbound and outbound markets to ensure the best costs and sales tariffs.
- Liaise and assist other departments and promote services in accordance with the Company’s pricing strategy.
- Win new business through effective and timely pricing.
- Ensure that customers’ requests are met with optimum service levels and associated pricing.
- Produce tariffs for overseas partners and keep them up to date and relevant.
- Provide sales with tariffs for distribution within the business.
- Monitor customer hit rates and maintain or increase margins where possible.
- Follow up all quotes with customers to obtain feedback and adjust pricing where possible.
General Responsibilities:
- Comply with company policies.
- Protect the interests of the business and escalate any areas of concern to the Airfreight Management team.
- Secure quotes in line with the pricing strategy agreed by management.
- Consider all service and pricing solutions proactively.
- Seek new carriers/routings that bring value to both the Company and its customers.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Acknowledge all customer quotes within 60 minutes with a holding message.
- Create tariffs.
- Follow up on all quotes directly with customers or via internal teams.
- Compare rates from OSPs where there is more than one in each location.
- Ensure airline contract rates are kept up to date.
- Ensure accepted quotes comply strictly with terms and conditions and accounting practices.
- Ensure good time management.
- Monitor won/lost quotes on a weekly basis.
- Handover secured jobs to the operations teams.
Daily Routines:
- Ensure professional communications with internal and external customers.
- Provide quote responses in line with KPIs.
- Keep an accurate record of all quotes/tariffs.
- Gather and evaluate market costs/conditions and share with the team.
- Quote and secure new business.
