Are you looking to support children with additional learning needs? Are you interested in supporting young people’s mental health? Do you have experience working with challenging behaviour? An excellent Specialist School in Witney are currently looking for a Behaviour Teaching Assistant to join them on a long-term basis until July 2025. This is an exciting opportunity for a Psychology or Criminology graduate, or experienced Teaching Assistant to develop experience with Special Educational Needs and Behaviour, and help support their mental health. The SEN School are looking for a confident, dedicated Behaviour Teaching Assistant who is enthusiastic and passionate about mental health and special education. Ideally, you will have experience working with children previously – this could be in any capacity, whether it is voluntary work, babysitting or in a sports setting! Experience with challenging behaviour would also be greatly beneficial too. As a Behaviour Teaching Assistant, you will be working with children aged 11 to 16 with a range of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, anxiety, trauma and behaviour challenges. You will help keep all the pupils focused and on task in the classroom, and help to manage their behaviour. Alongside their class work, you will help the students understand and process their own emotions and struggles, and support their emotional well being. The school focus on alternative forms of education, so expect a lot of arts and crafts, outdoor activities and cooking!
