Interim Finance Director / Commercial Head of Finance (Temporary)

Title: Interim Finance Director Location: London Hybrid 6 Months Contract Finatal is partnering with a high-performing, private equity-backed professional services business undergoing a period of strategic transformation. Backed by a leading upper mid-market fund, the £150m revenue business is focused on driving operational excellence, executing bolt-on acquisitions, and delivering enhanced value creation. To steer the finance function through this critical phase, they are seeking an experienced Interim Finance Director to lead on financial governance, support the executive team, and help prepare the business for its next phase of growth. As Interim Finance Director, you will report to the CEO and partner closely with both the Board and private equity stakeholders. You will be responsible for leading the finance function, implementing financial discipline, improving reporting frameworks, and providing commercial insight to shape strategic decision-making. Leading the finance function, ensuring robust financial controls and compliance. Managing and improving board and investor reporting, including KPIs and performance dashboards. Driving forecasting, budgeting, and cash management to support commercial and investment decisions. Leading on due diligence, integration, and financial planning for potential acquisitions. Mentoring and developing the finance team to build a scalable finance function. A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with a strong technical grounding. Proven experience as Finance Director or equivalent in a private equity-backed business or blue chip Pl. Strong commercial acumen and a strategic mindset. Track record of supporting transformation, M&A, and value creation initiatives.
