This is an exciting opportunity for a Group Regional Commercial Associate Director to join the Group Commercial Team. This role reports direct to the Group Commercial Director. Location is flexible, however, will require regular travel to multiple office locations with occasional over-night stays. The role ensures compliance of group policy and procedures within the commercial and buying functions. The purpose of the role is to contribute to and implement commercial strategies according to company guidelines and goals while providing support and training to the commercial departments. The role will include: Review, analyse and report on submitted development and infrastructure budgets to ensure accurate reporting of margins and also to ensure best value has been achieved through effective design, procurement and maximised revenues. Review, analyse and report on bi-monthly CVR, including ensuring the operating companies have maximised cost saving solutions, to ensure Group set budgets are not exceeded, allowing maximum company profits. Provide accurate and timely reports to the Group Commercial Director to enable the formulation of the appropriate strategy and aid decision making in line with the objectives of the Group. Provide support and training on company systems, in particular COINS VAP which all regions use to create budgets and CRVs. Regularly attend regional offices to give support, advice, training and attending necessary meetings. Work cohesively with other group departments across the Company to ensure achievement of national targets. Responsibility to maintain and regularly update multiple standard trade specifications and other guidance for use across the Group. Execute regular reviews on build costs across multiple regions to ensure accurate reporting and to ensure land viabilities utilise current and correct information. Advocate the Group Health, Safety and Environment Policy while ensuring compliance throughout the team to ensure health and safety standards are met. What we need from you? Experience as a quantity surveyor within the housebuilding industry is essential. Experienced in management and reconciliation of detailed financial models. Strong understanding of legislation and the construction market. Strong report writing skills. Experience of people management. Significant commercial experience. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Experience of COINS software systems is advantageous. Relevant Apprenticeship/Undergraduate/Postgraduate or equivalent qualifications, including HNC/HND. Full UK Driving License is required. Flexibility to travel across the UK and overnight stay availability. What’s in it for you?
