Job Title: Complex Needs SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: South East London
Contract Type: Full-Time, Term-Time Only
Start Date: September 2025
Daily Rate: £100 – £120 (depending on experience)

Are you a caring and resilient individual with a passion for supporting children with profound and complex learning needs?

Remedy Education is working closely with a specialist SEN primary school in South East London to recruit a Complex Needs SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September.

This is a rewarding role where you will support students with PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties), complex medical needs, and autism, many of whom are non-verbal and require tailored support to access their education.

Your Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 and group support to pupils with complex needs across early years and primary phases

Assist with personal care, feeding, and the use of mobility aids

Support students in sensory integration and communication, using resources like PECS, Makaton, and sensory circuits

Implement EHCP targets and record daily progress and observations

Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and medical staff to deliver high-quality care and education

Create an environment that promotes calm, inclusion, and well-being for all learners

Requirements:

Experience working in an SEN setting, ideally with pupils with PMLD, complex needs, or medical conditions

Familiarity with hoisting, feeding tubes, or moving and handling (training can be provided)

Comfortable with personal care responsibilities

Patient, compassionate, and highly adaptable

A valid DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one

Team Teach or MAPA training (desirable but not essential)
