This industry leading manufacturer and installer of fire detection systems are looking to recruit a fire alarm design engineer to be based on a large, live site in West London for 2 days a week, working remotely for the rest of the week. The successful applicant will be responsible for leading the design and implementation of all new fire alarm installations and modifications on site. This role includes ensuring ongoing compliance with client requirements and relevant standards through continuous design verification of the client's existing buildings.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing project-specific designs for Fire Detection and Alarms, PA/VA systems, Aspirating systems & Disabled Refuge Systems.
  • Preparing comprehensive Bills of Materials (BOM) to facilitate pricing, program planning, and design results.
  • Managing the approval process, ensuring thorough understanding and compliance with scope documents, standards, and regulations.
  • Guide designs from the conceptual stage through to the completion of all required documentation at handover.
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of client procedure documents and integrate these requirements into all designs.
  • Adhere to contract administration processes under the guidance of the Design Manager, ensuring timely implementation of Technical Queries (TQ) and Requests for Information (RFI), and addressing all responses appropriately.
  • Compile and prepare all system documentation for Operations and Maintenance (O&M) from project initiation to completion.

Candidates for this role will need experience in Fire Alarm system design (Fire Detection and Alarm Systems, PA/VA Systems, Aspirating Systems, Disabled Refuge Systems), with in-depth knowledge of relevant BS standards and regulations, strong communication and relationship building skills, and proven ability to deliver comprehensive BOMs and detailed design documentation.

This interesting opportunity comes with a basic salary of up to £50,000 plus travel paid, bonus, 26 days holiday, pension and other benefits.
