A high-achieving and inclusive primary school in Camden is seeking an exceptionally experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support to a Year 3 child with significant behavioural needs. This is a full-time, long-term position for someone ready to take on a challenging yet highly rewarding role.
The Role
- You will work closely with one pupil in year 3 who presents extremely challenging behaviour, including swearing, hitting, and biting.
- The child requires a resilient, calm, and highly skilled professional who can remain composed in high-stress situations and implement effective de-escalation techniques.
- Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the pupil throughout the school day in class and during transitions
- Managing incidents involving verbal and physical aggression in a safe and professional manner
- Working in close partnership with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals
- Implementing consistent behaviour strategies and personalised learning support
- Encouraging emotional regulation, social skills, and academic engagement
