Venn Group are currently working with a Local Authority in the South West, who are seeking a Temporary Accommodation Officer to provide housing management and housing related support to homeless households and families with dependent children.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide an efficient, responsive and sensitive housing management and housing related support service to resident households
  • Responsible for holding a case load, delivering high quality and professional citizen centric services to customers
  • Ensure that all cases are supported to move on from temporary accommodation in a sustainable way by providing comprehensive advice and support covering all housing options
  • Undertake a case management role including rent recovery, debit control, arrears, signups, voids, repairs and accommodation management responsibilities
  • Work effectively in co-operation with other teams and services
  • Ensure positive and effective communication with both internal and external customers
  • Delivery of the Housing Options service agenda and embedding the new ways of working, systems and prevention processes across the service

Essential Skills:

  • Experience of voids, lettings, income management
  • Knowledge of current homelessness legislation and awareness of the wide range of issues affecting homeless households
  • Current Enhanced DBS
