About the Role

We’re seeking an experienced Backend Software Engineer with strong Node.js expertise to join a short-term project supporting a large transport organisation. The role will focus on developing and improving their booking system, ensuring scalability and performance across a high-traffic environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Node.js
• Collaborate with front-end and DevOps teams to deliver robust solutions
• Optimise existing systems for reliability and efficiency
• Contribute to code reviews and technical discussions within a small, agile team

Requirements

• Proven commercial experience with Node.js
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and backend architecture
• Experience working on large-scale, production-level applications
• Comfortable working independently in a remote environment
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Contract Details

• Duration: 2 months
• Rate: £400 per day
• IR35 Status: Outside IR35
• Location: Remote (UK-based candidates only)
