White Label is hiring a Project Manager for an established engineering business in Barnsley. This role would suit a technical minded Project Manager wanting to be involved in large-scale engineering projects. My client is offering a salary of £55,000 - £60,000 plus:

  • 33 days holiday (including stats)
  • £5,000/year car allowance
  • 37-hour work week with 1 PM finish on Friday
  • Flexible start/finish times
  • Pension

Responsibilities of the Project Manager

  • Manage the full project lifecycle for complex mechanical engineering projects.
  • Take ownership of client liaison from initial brief through to project delivery, ensuring expectations are clearly defined and met.
  • Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets, tracking progress and controlling costs to meet contractual and commercial targets.
  • Coordinate manufacturing, site installation, and commissioning activities — ensuring work is delivered safely on time, and to a high standard.
  • Lead project meetings and produce regular progress reports for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Work closely with in-house engineering, production, and site teams to resolve issues quickly and keep the programme on track.
  • Support tendering and business development by contributing technical input and programme details to bids.

Experience required of the Project Manager

  • A proven track record of managing complex mechanical engineering projects.
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or similar) preferred. HNC/HND qualified candidates also considered.
  • Experience in medium-heavy engineering would be desirable.
