On behalf of a highly successful and established construction company, we are delighted to be recruiting a Trainee Planner. This is an entry-level opportunity to work alongside a team of experienced construction Planners to produce programmes that underpin the strategy of tenders and live projects by finding the most intelligent and efficient ways to deliver first class buildings.
Working as part of the on-site project teams, and mentored by experienced Planners, duties will include:
- Creating, maintaining and reviewing construction programmes and plans, utilising ASTA Power Project to enhance the construction, design and procurement process.
- Dealing with external contractors and suppliers to organise the various phases of the construction programme.
- Identify methodologies and sequencing that could improve the completion date.
- Work closely with the construction site teams to provide accurate progress reports, communicating potential programme risks to the Senior Management.
- Help drive programme and delivery of projects through problem solving and collaborating.
- Produce logistic plans and PowerPoint illustrations to demonstrate the most effective and safe methods for traffic management and crane/hoist movement.
Skills and Experience:
- Good organisation skills with a natural aptitude for planning.
- An excellent communicator, both verbally and written.
- Good Microsoft IT skills.
- Logical approach to problem solving.
Qualifications:
- Level 3/HNC/HND or A-level qualifications or equivalent.
- Please note that a full UK driving licence and own vehicle is essential. You will be required to travel to sites within the Bedford / Cambridge / Oxford areas. Expenses for doing so will be reimbursed.
Training & Development:
The successful candidate will be given the opportunity to attend a part-time construction related course to obtain a relevant qualification such as an HNC, HND or a Degree if not already qualified. This would be fully funded by the company. A personalised training plan will also be agreed.
