The Compute Services & Cloud Manager leads all aspects of the daily operations of the Data Centres & Edge. They ensure high-quality service delivery and meet established standards. This role involves guiding the planning, design, and implementation of central initiatives to align data centre capacity with current and future needs. The Compute Services & Cloud Manager provides technical leadership and expert advice on data centre, cloud and Edge operations development, ensuring robust and efficient performance, scalability, and security.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning and Development: Own the planning, development, and enhancement of Data Centre and Cloud transformation to align with business goals and execute a long-term Compute & Cloud strategy.
Security and Compliance: Ensure the security of Data Centre operations, implement appropriate controls, and develop disaster recovery plans in line with the corporate business continuity plan.
Service Delivery Optimisation: Proactively optimising service delivery methods, handling incident reports, escalation, change management, and monitoring SLAs and KPIs.
Infrastructure and Architecture Development: Planning, developing and optimising technical architecture and infrastructure, applying lean methods to improve efficiency and reduce costs, and maintaining accurate configuration records.
Team Management and Collaboration: Running and mentoring a technical team, supervising budget management, and collaborating with partners to translate business needs into Compute Services & Cloud Management plans, ensuring effective communication and alignment with other business units.
Professional Experience
Proven track record in IT Infrastructure and data centre management.
Demonstrable experience leading multi-cultural technical teams, both internal and external.
Technical Expertise
Extensive experience in data centre transformations, including on-premises, cloud, and Edge computing environments.
Deep understanding of IT infrastructure, operating systems, virtual systems, backup of IT applications and service processes used within the organisation.
Proficient in the principles and application of cloud computing and virtualisation, including ownership, responsibilities, and security implications.
Understanding of Infrastructure Architecture, including frameworks and principles on which storage, systems, equipment, and resources are based, both on-premises and cloud-based.
Proficient in methods and techniques for risk management, business impact assessments, countermeasures, and contingency arrangements related to serious disruptions of IT services.
Certifications and Additional Skills
ITIL Certification (useful).
Experience with Azure (useful).
Education
Master’s Degree or equivalent experience
