For Companies Abatec are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join a contractor appointed as a Strategic Delivery Partner on Southwest Water’s £3bn AMP8 Engineering Tier 1 Delivery Framework. This prestigious appointment covers all of Devon, Bournemouth, and Bristol, with the potential to extend through to 2035.
About the Role
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-value water and wastewater infrastructure projects. Your responsibilities will include:
- Cost Management: Accurately estimate, monitor, and control project costs from inception through to completion.
- NEC form of contract experience.
- Contract Administration: Manage contractual relationships and ensure compliance with terms and conditions.
- Value Engineering: Identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising on quality or safety.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure seamless project delivery.
- Risk Management: Assess and mitigate financial risks associated with projects.
- Subcontractor management.
Our client requires a Quantity Surveyor with:
- Degree/HND/HNC qualification in Quantity Surveying
- Experience of working for a Civil Engineering contractor as a Quantity Surveyor
- Membership of the RICS/ICES (desirable/not essential)
- Ability to interpret design details and value interpretations.
- Excellent communication skills
- Health and safety knowledge
