An established and growing manufacturer within the medical device sector is seeking an experienced Quality Manager to join their team. This is a key role focused on maintaining high standards across quality systems, regulatory compliance, and product performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and uphold quality criteria for all products, ensuring consistency, safety, and reliability.
- Maintain and continuously improve company-wide quality systems in line with national standards and relevant regulatory requirements (e.g. ISO13485, ISO14001).
- Promote a culture of quality excellence across all departments.
- Work closely with compliance teams to align on Quality, Safety, Health, and Environmental (QSHE) systems.
- Develop and implement best-practice quality strategies and processes to support overall business performance.
- Ensure proactive quality control to deliver products and services that meet high customer expectations.
- Support the maintenance of Quality Management Systems (QMS), including ISO 13485 and ISO 9001, and assist with third-party audits.
- Lead investigations into quality issues, including those identified through inspections, complaints, or returns.
- Manage and maintain Quality Control plans using a risk-based approach; record results through the MRP system.
- Collaborate with production on inspection criteria and verify initial production runs, engineering changes (ECNs), and new product introductions.
- Assist with internal audits and contribute to the creation of effective work instructions during new product launches.
Candidate Requirements
- A technical qualification in engineering or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in quality management within a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge or experience with either ISO13485, 14001 or 9001.
- Strong understanding of Quality Management Systems (QMS) and ERP systems.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Experience with LEAN methodologies and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
- Strong organisational abilities with the capacity to meet tight deadlines.
- Full UK driving licence required.
