Are you passionate about food, team leadership, and working in a school environment? We are looking for a dedicated School Catering Deputy Manager to join our client helping provide nutritious and delicious meals to over 150 students every day.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support daily meal preparation, cooking, and service
- Supervise catering staff to ensure smooth and efficient operations
- Ensure portion control and high food quality standards
- Operate and maintain kitchen equipment, including the dishwasher
- Manage food hygiene, cleanliness, and kitchen safety at all times
- Assist in placing food and stock orders
- Carry out general cleaning and kitchen duties
- Be confident to step up and manage the kitchen in the absence of the manager
- Equally comfortable to step back into a support role when the manager is present
What Weβre Looking For:
- Experience working in a catering or kitchen environment (school setting preferred but not essential)
- Comfortable preparing and serving large volumes of meals
- Confident in leading a team but flexible and collaborative in nature
- A good understanding of food hygiene and safety standards
- Hardworking, reliable, and ready to work as part of a close-knit team
- Holds Enhanced DBS child and workforce
- Holds Level 2 Food and hygiene
