Are you an experienced Backend Developer who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment? We’re working with a well-established, privately owned online travel business currently undergoing a major digital transformation and they’re now looking to bring in a talented developer to help shape the next phase of their technology journey.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- You’ll take the lead on rebuilding a high-volume pricing platform, modernising legacy systems, and designing the backend architecture that underpins the business.
- This role will suit someone who’s confident working with large datasets, complex system structures, and designing scalable, maintainable services from the ground up.
- While the focus is very much on the backend, you’ll occasionally support the front-end team to ensure smooth integration and end-to-end delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Rebuild and modernise existing systems with minimal PHP maintenance
- Design and develop backend services using C# and PostgreSQL
- Optimise and support large-scale data sets and complex architectures
- Collaborate on front-end features with Node.js and React when required
- Contribute to Python-based AI content projects
- Apply DevOps knowledge to build scalable, reliable systems (Docker, AWS)
- Take ownership of projects from concept to delivery within a flat, agile team
What You’ll Need:
- Proven backend development experience (C# preferred), with strong PostgreSQL knowledge
- Experience designing system architecture and working with large, transactional data sets
- Comfortable contributing to front-end work (Node/React) in a full-stack environment
- Solid DevOps skills: Linux command line, Docker, AWS, and CI/CD pipelines
- Familiarity with Git and modern dev workflows
