Job Description

Job Title: Early Help Project WorkerLocation: Birmingham

Overview:Our client is delivering a project aimed at identifying service gaps and improving access to Early Help support across Birmingham. The role involves working collaboratively with local partners and communities to ensure families receive timely and effective support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside Birmingham Childrenโ€™s Trust in designated districts to coordinate support for families.
  • Liaise with local organisations and community groups to connect families to available support.
  • Collaborate with voluntary sector colleagues to ensure a joined-up approach to family support.
  • Engage service users and partners to support project delivery.
  • Support project evaluation through case studies and tracking outcomes.
  • Manage a caseload, offering targeted short-term Early Help interventions.
  • Conduct home visits and work in community settings.
  • Provide practical support to families (e.g., food parcels, fuel support, advice sessions).
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to reporting.

Person Specification:

  • Minimum NVQ Level 3 qualification in social care, education, health, or equivalent.
  • Strong ICT and administrative skills.
  • Proven ability to build effective relationships with families and professionals.
  • Experience engaging families using various models and approaches.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
  • Experience working across diverse communities and multi-agency environments.
  • Solid understanding of disadvantage, social exclusion, and promoting equality.
  • Knowledge of Early Help, child development, safeguarding, and relevant local services.
  • Confident in assessment, planning, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Flexible, self-motivated, and able to prioritise workload.
  • Full driving licence and access to a vehicle required.
