The Role
As a Senior Project Manager, you will be assuming a senior position within the portfolio, working closely with the Senior Portfolio Manager to provide oversight and guidance to more junior members of the projects team in the execution of the portfolio whilst delivering your own projects. This role is critical to the strategic growth of the portfolio whilst ensuring sound delivery practice. You will be working within our Defence Digital Business Stream and will have the opportunity to lead the delivery of highly classified projects, making a tangible difference to national security.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Being able to influence others as a respected leader
- Developing and maintaining positive engagement with project customers, partners, suppliers and stakeholders
- Delivering project outputs to an agreed baseline such as customer satisfaction, time, cost, quality, cash and sales
- The application of governance requirements for the foundation of sales and delivery work including lifecycle, project and independent reviews
- Business development and being able to identify, qualify, develop and deliver solutions to customers articulating the benefits of QinetiQ solutions
- Negotiation & conflict management and Human resource management
Essential experience of the Senior Project Manager:
- Previous experience of complex project programme or portfolio planning and execution
- Knowledge of MoD project and procurement processes
- Previous experience doing business development
Essential qualifications for the Senior Project Manager:
- APM qualified or another comparable PM qualification
- The successful candidate must be willing to undergo DV Clearance
This role is 37 hours per week based at PTP, Portsmouth. Hybrid working patterns are available.
