We are seeking an experienced Management Accountant / Finance Manager to join a growing, fast-moving business on a 6-month interim contract. This is a project-focused role, covering the transition between a departing Finance Manager and a permanent hire later in the year. This is a hands-on, delivery-driven assignment suited to a seasoned contractor who can hit the ground running, add immediate value and improve how things are done. This is not a caretaker role. The successful candidate will be expected to document processes, tighten controls, implement improvements and leave the function in a stronger position for the incoming permanent Finance Manager. You will manage one direct report (Finance Assistant) and work closely with senior stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Prepare and post monthly journals, including accruals, prepayments and adjustments Reconcile key balance sheet accounts Produce monthly management accounts for review and sign-off Perform variance analysis against budget and prior periods Support budgeting processes, including data collection and consolidation Maintain and update rolling forecasts based on latest actuals Assist with cost allocation and overhead analysis Prepare and update cash flow forecasts Support revenue forecasting activities Monitor and report on working capital metrics Oversee billing processes Process and review international supplier VAT invoices Ensure adherence to financial controls and internal policies Identify inefficiencies in reporting or reconciliation processes and implement improvements Prepare clear documentation and handover for the permanent Finance Manager Support scenario modelling and profitability analysis Maintain the accuracy and integrity of financial data Prepare ad-hoc financial reports and support internal audit requirements where needed Skills & Experience Required Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) Proven experience operating at Management Accountant / Finance Manager level Strong technical accounting background, including AP, AR and bank reconciliations Hands-on ERP experience (NetSuite preferred, though not essential) Experience working in a small finance team with broad responsibilities Strong Excel skills (intermediate level as a minimum – including large data sets, formulas such as XLOOKUP, tables, etc.) Comfortable delivering results in short timeframes Confident working autonomously and driving improvements Desirable Previous interim or contract experience Experience supporting growing or multi-channel businesses Exposure to international suppliers and VAT
