About The Role
Ensigna Construction is looking for an experienced and proactive Contracts Manager to lead the delivery of public and commercial construction projects ranging from £1m to £8m. This is a senior leadership role within a growing business, ideal for someone with a strong background in public sector delivery and a commitment to quality, safety, and compliance.
You will oversee projects from pre-construction through to completion, working collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure all programmes are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the successful delivery of multiple live projects across the education, healthcare, civic, and commercial sectors
- Support pre-construction activities including tender input, methodology development, and value engineering
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and supply chain partners
- Oversee programme management, health and safety, quality assurance, and commercial performance
- Work closely with site teams to manage risk, resolve issues, and drive operational efficiency
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, public procurement standards, and construction regulations
Candidate Profile
We’re seeking a confident and organised professional with a proven track record in managing public sector construction projects from inception to completion.
Essential Requirements:
- Minimum HNC in Construction or equivalent
- Demonstrable experience managing contracts within the construction industry
- Strong knowledge of public sector frameworks, regulations, and stakeholder expectations
- Comfortable leading across both pre-construction and delivery phases
- Skilled in managing budgets, programmes, and cross-functional teams
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership abilities
- Full UK driving licence
