Ocean Import/Export Coordinator

Location: Egham, Surrey

Salary: Up to £38,000 DOE

A highly regarded and long-standing international freight forwarder is looking to hire an experienced Ocean Import/Export Coordinator at their Egham office. This is a great opportunity to join a company with a strong global presence and a track record of investing in its people and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage ocean freight shipments (both imports and exports) from booking through to delivery
• Prepare and submit all necessary shipping and customs documentation, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, and entries
• Coordinate closely with shipping lines, overseas agents, customers, and customs authorities
• Monitor shipment status, troubleshoot delays or issues, and provide timely updates to clients
• Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations and internal company processes
• Liaise with internal departments including transport and warehousing to ensure operational efficiency

Requirements:

• Experience in ocean import/export operations within a freight forwarding or logistics environment
• Good working knowledge of customs processes, clearance procedures, and industry documentation
• Competent with industry platforms such as Cargowise, CNS, Destin8, or CDS
• Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple shipments simultaneously
• Clear communicator with a problem-solving mindset and customer-focused approach
