We are currently working with a reputable multi utility & maintenance contractor based in the North West, to recruit a Commercial Manager. As Commercial Manager, and part of the senior leadership team, you will be responsible for managing all commercial aspects of the business. Based in the Bolton offices, you will be expected to lead and influence a high performing team of quantity surveyors and commercial admin across all regions. Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer this role will have ownership for driving performance and ensuring that project performance is being delivered against expectation whilst working closely with both internal and external stakeholders.

Given the nature of this role, candidates are expected to possess strong commercial skills, be customer focused and have a good knowledge of the utility industry.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
  • Experience in the Utilities Industry: Understanding of the utilities sector, including gas, electricity, and water infrastructure.
  • Commercial Skills: Commercial Management and familiarity with Contract Terms.
  • Contract Negotiation Skills: Ability to negotiate contracts effectively with suppliers and clients.
  • Financial Management Expertise: Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, cost control, cash flow management, and management of cost value reconciliation.
  • Project Management Skills: Experience in managing projects from inception to completion.
  • Leadership and Team Management: Ability to lead and motivate a team of commercial staff.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with stakeholders.
  • Problem-solving and Analytical Skills: Ability to identify and solve complex problems.
  • IT Literate: Proficient in use of Excel spreadsheets and document management packages.
