We are currently seeking an interim Sensory Technician, to work with Manpower at our global FMCG client Unilever, renowned for brands such as Dove, Sure, Persil, and Simple, and become an integral part of their fast-paced FMCG environment. This is a part-time temporary role to run for a period of 1 year with the view to extend, requiring 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday (will require you to work Monday and Friday, as well as two days in between). Compensation for this role is competitive, paying up to £23,880 per annum, pro rata (full time equivalent) depending upon experience. Please note, due to the nature of the testing and the use of female panellists, you must be female. Key Accountabilities Support the training of Sensory panellists. Conducting accurately, reproducibly and safely the key elements of sensory test studies, including (but not restricted to) setting up tests, day to day running of panels, including booking in panellists Provide accurate documentation of test data – including data analysis and reporting (including connecting with external partners) as required. Dealing with all panellists in a professionally, courteous manner and according to the Consumer Science Group Code of Conduct Complete the routine preparative work associated with the various protocols; this involves labelling test products and preparation of computer capture system for data capture or paper questionnaires Contribute to the wider Deodorants CTI team and programme where required. Preparation of samples for shipment following Unilever guidance and protocols. Support with organization and housekeeping of CSC storeroom, liaising with formulation lab teams as required for the disposal of samples. Key Requirements Be female, due to the nature of the testing and the use of female panellists. Some research or clinical trial experience Excellent communication skills (written and oral) Experience dealing with members of the public and excellent people skills Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail GCSE Maths, English and Science and higher education desirable. IT literacy including being fully operational in the use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook), experience of analysis and data storage systems would be advantageous. Able to learn new skills quickly Good time management The ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural team. The ability to work under pressure (e.g. time constraints) Additional Information Leeds working environment: There is a canteen available onsite serving hot and cold food.
